Great Escapes and Secret Interviews…..Sundays, moon pies and cokes at the old Dunlap drive-in theater

• A true American mid-summer’s night experience

I miss the old drive in my hometown
It was sold for 1.1 mill to a Walgreens
I pass by, my way through Woodbury, TN reminiscing
The sight of the Moonlit Drive-in Theater drove me to remember mid-summer nights gazing at the screen of the Beautiful Dunlap Drive-In Theater
I feel….

The other person says, ….SO tell me about this drive-in?

Double features for five dollars
Sweat
koolers
Chocolate bars of different varieties
And don’t forget the Moonpies
Sundrop-a signature “fav” for the little town of Dunlap, TN
Listening to children grazing with laughter playing in the grass
With “little-leaguers” passing a softball before the movie
Popcorn
Teenagers making-out with pure sport of the thrill
Olders’ making fun with mere contemplation
Heralds’ with divine might with windows rolled down analyzing the movie
Friends laughing
Cars passing by on 127 highway with mystery and suspense wondering what’s going on within the 4 walls of the Drive-in.
A swift summer breeze foretelling thought as it whisperers into your ear,
‘Wake-up, pay deeper, closer attention to what’s going on in the movie.’
With the taste of Win-Bob’s Drive-In Eatery fill in the air with another American Pastime
Homemade-greasey Angus beef hamburgers and Fires

“I remember those burgers. They were so good. They just don’t make them like that anymore.”

Again the other person asks, “Ok, so was it a restaurant or store?” It sounds as if you have very fond memories of the drive-in?

All inclusive some say.
In some respects a true Dunlap original establishment
Even better than the local Hardee’s!
